The course focuses on descriptive document processing and the organization of bibliographic information, providing students with a comprehensive introduction to the basic principles, tools and practices used in libraries. Students will become familiar with international standards such as AACR2, ISBDs, RDA and MARC, understanding the logic behind bibliographic records. Through practical applications in automated systems such as Koha, they will gain skills in creating and organizing records, taking into account the specificities of different types of documents. In addition, the course enhances students’ critical thinking skills, as they will be asked to analyze, select appropriate description rules and evaluate the accuracy of their records, both in print and electronic format.
