Design and implementation of an information system: selection of the appropriate software, arrangement of the various roles of human resources, definition of data types of the various entities, definition of the relationships between the entities, , the flow of information between the various users, as well as the licenses.
More specifically, the student will have the knowledge of designing a conceptual E-R model, by selecting the necessary entities (E) enriched with the appropriate characteristics, as well as the relationships (R) for the accurate, economical and comprehensive representation of the problem. Then, based on cardinality and participation restrictions of the E-R model, the student will have the knowledge of designing and implementing a relational database (in the Microsoft Access environment). Finally, the student will have the knowledge of implementing information retrieval queries both in a wizard environment and in a query language (SQL) environment. Applications used: Microsoft Access, MySQL Server.
