The course Information Literacy aims to develop students’ ability to think critically and make well-balanced judgments about the information they find and use. This involves objectively verifying and reviewing multiple perspectives before forming conclusions. By cultivating a set of skills related to analyzing, searching, accessing, evaluating, ethically using, creating, and sharing information, students can form and articulate well-informed opinions. This enables them to actively and sustainably participate in today’s information society and knowledge production landscape. Additionally, students learn to apply and integrate the most widely used educational and information literacy models to design an Information Literacy initiative. To achieve the learning objectives and outcomes, emphasis is placed on structured and guided learning, as well as active student participation. This is facilitated through group discussions, question-and-answer sessions, individual and group exercises, and the writing and presentation of assignments.
